This blog is a collection of my poetry, song lyrics, and certain other written works. I will try to upload at least one new poem per week. My dream to be published started all the way in 2nd grade, so I'm here to just get some of my stuff out there. Enjoy! (: This is the P.O.V. Better yet, this is me.

Moon

Shining ball in the sky
Light glimmering up so high
Breaking away the darkness of the night
The blackness vanishes without a fight
A soft glimmer of a glow,
Comfort all high and low
For some to see and creep
Others to happily sleep
Moon sparkling up above,
Guide us all with love
Showing us the way,
During the night and, at times, the day
Seemingly close enough to touch
Never too little or too much
Though it changes
To various differing ranges

Break Like a Doll
Barbie looks gone with the fantasy life
No more fairy tales, no more daydreams
Realities faced and harsher grown
Like thorns of a rose anew
Barely born yet biting scorn
Tearing through flesh smooth
Carving thy name in blood
Leaving behind scars of recollection
Shattered armor cracked and sliced
Hatchet crashing down
Caressing the porcelain skin so smooth
And a single look from the metal head
Shatters a break down the eye
In a path of human tears
Towards the chest ceramic
Unveiling an iced center eternal
The endless tomorrow of being dead
Trolling around, feet dragging behind
Bags under the eyes drawn on dark as ink
The spray painted base covered in detail
Each wrinkled line etched deeper
And more defined lay the result
Of endless tiredness and broken pieces
Which can make no amends and seeks no repair
Instead fall deeper into the toy box of despair
The games surrounding you
Swirl around your thoughts
Engulfing and digging in
In that confinement, dark and alone
Feelings in ashes, mentality forlorn
Emotions were toyed with
Each action entertainment
Was nothing real?
One can no longer tell
Arm comes ripping off
Leg bent at an awkward angle
Head twisted three sixty
Hair tangled and caught
Upon a hook dangling
Trapped in your own box

Fleeting Jailbird

Fleeting footsteps fall
Upon pavement in the hall
Steady sounds pounding
Barefoot and running
Looking back for none
Heading towards the sun
Despite the angry clamors
Behind you from the slammers
Never going back
To the voided black
Bare and alone
Nothing but a pile of bones
Hunger has eaten flesh away
Solitary emptiness has led mind astray
Driven to the brinks of insanity
The silent killer in humanity
The roaring barks of canines
Fiercely on your tail, malign
Along with the whistles and shouts
Of guards alerting the other scouts
You push further towards the gates
Key to your freedom and your straits
The bars that kept you in captivity
Now towards them is your proclivity
Must get out and as far from here
To start a new life without such fear
Wrongly accused of doing such crimes
But not a word heard through evil times
Feet pound constant upon rocky earth
Apathetic to nature’s mirth
Sharp stones cut jaggedly into skin
Leaving bloody stains where you’ve been
The sweat upon your brow descends
Along your cheek it transcends
Meeting an end at your chapped lips
The saltiness stinging like slashes of whips
Flick of the tongue rids the saline sweat
Yet inside you continue to fret
The dryness of your mouth growing
But you keep on going
Past the iron gateway
That caged you in, for you to decay
Into the world grandiose
Full of choices in immeasurable doses
But all that matters in this moment
Is to get to that extent
Legs tiring out, but will pushes on
Fleeing into the horizon, gone
Creating a new identity
Living in peace and serenity
Absent from the ominous confines
Of a cell darker than the deepest mines

Open Blinds

Rush of light floods in
Through eyes shut sensed
Awaken by unrelenting brightness
Streaming steady, endlessly inward
Bathing the room in light
Unavoidable, inevitable
Escapes a moan of despair
Eyes forced to contradictions
No longer able to drift back to sleep
Yet wanting nothing more than escape
The blinding intensity of the rays
Outlining luminosity a ton
Uncovering the whites
Of the eyes, and the iris bright
Lifting the blanketing lids covering
The warmth of the darkness and night
During sleep, comfort stripped
Away from dreaming
