Fleeting Jailbird

Fleeting footsteps fall

Upon pavement in the hall

Steady sounds pounding

Barefoot and running

Looking back for none

Heading towards the sun

Despite the angry clamors

Behind you from the slammers

Never going back

To the voided black

Bare and alone

Nothing but a pile of bones

Hunger has eaten flesh away

Solitary emptiness has led mind astray

Driven to the brinks of insanity

The silent killer in humanity

The roaring barks of canines

Fiercely on your tail, malign

Along with the whistles and shouts

Of guards alerting the other scouts

You push further towards the gates

Key to your freedom and your straits

The bars that kept you in captivity

Now towards them is your proclivity

Must get out and as far from here

To start a new life without such fear

Wrongly accused of doing such crimes

But not a word heard through evil times

Feet pound constant upon rocky earth

Apathetic to nature’s mirth

Sharp stones cut jaggedly into skin

Leaving bloody stains where you’ve been

The sweat upon your brow descends

Along your cheek it transcends

Meeting an end at your chapped lips

The saltiness stinging like slashes of whips

Flick of the tongue rids the saline sweat

Yet inside you continue to fret

The dryness of your mouth growing

But you keep on going

Past the iron gateway

That caged you in, for you to decay

Into the world grandiose

Full of choices in immeasurable doses

But all that matters in this moment

Is to get to that extent

Legs tiring out, but will pushes on

Fleeing into the horizon, gone

Creating a new identity

Living in peace and serenity

Absent from the ominous confines

Of a cell darker than the deepest mines

Priority (Song)

These are the lyrics to a song two of my friends and I created. I wrote the lyrics, Wesley J Wu (Wasoon) composed the music, and Christa Musngi sang.
Listen to it at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yIv7XZ6zVg&feature=channel

Laying in bed
It’s Friday night
Nowhere to head
No will to fight

Crying a stream
Bawling a storm
Losing that dream
That was the norm

You were my priority (whoa)
Number one on my list
But I was your minority (whoa)
A simple diss

Wishing for that past
Wonder what went wrong
Thought that it would last
Guess forever aint long

Not gonna be just any fling
I don’t care anymore
Got my own wings, gonna soar

Realized you never tried
Inside, I slowly died
Now livin’ and soarin’ high
No longer bound and tightly tied

You were my priority (whoa)
Number one on my list
But I was your minority (whoa)
A simple diss

You’re no longer priority
‘Cuz I was an option
Now you’re MY minority
So go have your fun

‘Cuz now I’m free from you
And standing my ground
My new priority true
Within myself found

Steal My Tears

note: My friend, Emil, saw this and did an arrangement of it and wrote chords and turned it into a song: http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=169034873120457&subj=534179660

Steal my tears away
Game’s too hard for me to play
Laying here tonight
Unable to sleep alright

My mind wanders far
Thoughts adrift to where you are
Heart rarely along
Cannot tell where we went wrong

All the pain and tears
Drowning further in my fears
Spinning out of reach
Walls that we can’t ever breach

Took up all my time
Tore apart my heart and mind
Was it false or true?
Unsure of what I should do

But for you I fought
You have never left my thoughts
Twenty-Four-Seven
Being with you was heaven

You – my other half
Together, we cry and laugh
That way we should stay
So don’t let me slip away
