Summer Afternoon

It is beautiful outside
It doesn’t look quite like summer,
Yet it does in a way
The sky not quite blue,
More of a grayish, light blue type of hue
Our tree is quite beautiful,
It is unlike other trees,
Its leaves hanging down,
Waving gently in the breeze
The ferns and flowers sway softly
In the silent,
The trickling of water,
The only sound heard
It really is beautiful outside,
Today, in the cool and the quiet

Waterfall

The water crashing down

Slamming upon the lake’s surface

Rushing rapidly

Thrashing thunderously

Yet the sight and sound

Causes no fright and anxiety

Upon the viewers plenty

Rather a calm, melodious sound

And placid, beauteous sight

For those bystanders many

The clear water foaming

Sparkly under the sun

And a rainbow peeks from

The clouds above

The water fresh and renewed

From a recent rainfall

The lake pure and serene

Nature, quiet yet noisy

Booming yet tranquil

A place of true beauty

For those young and old

To behold

To sit back and relax

And observe the placidity

Breathing Water

Shoved violently down by waves

The taste of delectable air craves

Choking on water salty

Difficult to see

Senses simply do not behave

Unable to breathe properly

Lungs swamping fast, drastically,

Swallowing mouthfuls of tears

Moment’s only fear

Had never lived life fully

Tumbling deeper into the reef

Tossed about like wind would a leaf

Pressure compressing

Life dangling on string

Craving nothing but death's sweet relief
