Hours to Tomorrow

Day by day passing right on by

Hands on the clock keep twirling

Spinning around and moving forward

Stopping for none, continuing for all

Sprinting past continuously

And within what seemed like nothing at all

All of time goes swishing by

Looking back, all seems so close

Yet unreachable, so far away

No matter how much heart and will

Pushed forth to push backward

The iron wall stands towering, concrete

Nothing will be allowed passage

One way road, unchangeable

Wanting naught but to alter what was

To relive, to rebuild, to replay

Times past as present

But the guardians of time,

Keepers of memories,

Shove your insisting body away

Unsympathetic and unfeeling

Bounding forward,

Hurdling through time and space

The future nears so rapidly

And soon all comes to an end

Yet tomorrow always seems so far off

Like what will never happen

But before realizing, it arrives

Once reaching the destination,

However, it is no longer tomorrow

As that would be yet another day away

Countless hours ‘til it shall emerge

Materializing in only our thoughts

Creators of this continuum

Endlessly procrastinate
