Hello Day, Good Morning

note: its my birthday today :D

Hello day!

Hello life!

Hello world!

Good marrow,

Good day,

Good morning I say!

Wake up little birdies

And sing your sweet songs

Wake up dear parents

To teach us right from wrong

Wake up bright sun

And light our way

Wake up sweet children,

It’s time to learn and play

I say get up,

Shout a great hello to the world

Get up,

Wake up,

Enjoy,

And treasure life’s treasures

While you still can

Don’t just sit there

Get up,

Wake up,

And get moving

Set your goals,

Chase your dreams,

Don’t stop trying,

Achieve!

Nothing is impossible,

If you just try

Where ever there is a will,

There is a way

So get up,

Wake up,

And enjoy the pleasures of

Life!

Cookie

A simple, everyday cookie,

Ordinary and common,

Nothing unique,

New or original

Majority of the time

People want the new,

The updated,

The better and the best

But the simple cookie,

Traditional and conventional,

Remains in the love

Of generations old and new

The golden brown surface,

The chocolate mountains,

The hills and craters upon the dough,

The roundness - smooth, yet rough

The warm, sweet aroma

That fills the nose

The sugary, comfort

That melts in the mouth

The familiar, universal

Sugary treat,

Delicious and irresistible

The simple yet delectable

Poster Child

Always in the shadow

Blown away as nothing important

Compared against one another always

Described as mediocre and insufficient

Everything seems to be wrong

For we are never going to be

Good enough for them

High expectations and norms set

Instead of praising that done well

Just simply critiques all that’s not

Knowing that somebody somewhere

Lies a bit higher up on that scale

Matching up qualities and activities

Not once beating them to come up on top

Only coming close, but that is not enough

Poster child, poster child

Queen and king of a perfect world

Ruling unknowingly

Suspecting naught of all the criticisms

They bring upon those striving for that perfection

Utopia unattainable when constantly,

Violently berated for all

We have done that does not please

Xenophobic hypocrites

Yielding their power and words to tear down

Zealous individuals until they doubt all

Angels

Fallen angel

Seen the world full of deceit

Heavy heart full of pain

Wanting naught but to retreat

Innocent soul torn and slain

Weeping angel

Knows all the truths of the world

The trickery and deception

Of every day’s lie

Cries for the salvation of humanity

Glowing angel

One of few still pure and whole

Not once given in

To the pressures of the world

Watching over all, protectively

Earthly angel

Still amongst humanity

Advising and leading

Their brethren

Down a path of life

Fiery angel

Passionate and stubborn

Knowledge vast,

Bright as a star

Sticking to their own way

Marine angel

Calm and placid

Charismatic and influential

Brings all together in tranquility

Instilling peace and harmony

Sharing the Skylight

The clock has not yet chimed twelve,

It hasn’t reached noon,

Yet high with the fiery sun,

I spot the glow of the moon

I look in amazement,

I ponder the thought,

Why did they choose cooperation today,

When for attention they usually fought

The sun’s bright beams shined all day,

The moon smiled silently through the night,

To one another, nothing to say

Until today, all they did was fight

This morning, though,

I looked upon the sky

And say the two hand in hand,

Tired of being malicious and sly

Instead of provoking one another,

Or hogging the stage

They stood together

Sharing the fame and wage

The wage of our looks

Of admiration and awe

When glancing up from our work and books,

There seemed to be not a single flaw
